005522 - Altitude Sensor / Boost Pressure Sensor

Featured Replies

Hello everyone

As title suggests i have a boost pressure sensor fault on me 07 VRS TDI.

Address 01:Engine

1 fault Found:

005522 - Altitude Sensor / Boost Pressure Sensor

P1592 - 006 - Implausible Correlation

Can anyone help with the location and the part number please.

Could be the MAP sensor which I think lives on or close to the intercooler.

Thank you for the reply.

Does anyone have a picture of the location of the MAP sensor please.

on the mkI the wiring to the map sensor runs along the boost pipe from the intercooler to the inlet manifold so you trace along the wire to find the sensor. I don't know if the mkII is the same though.

You can usually check the sensor by comparing the altitude against the boost with the engine not running in VCDS.

They should read pretty much the same, can be a slight difference though.

Hi

The car is all fixed now. The altitude and boost sensor where different by about 230mbar. I found the boost sensor down by the intercooler removed, cleaned and replaced.

Now both read within 2mbar.

Thank you all for the help.
