Yeti Urban 2.0 or Yeti Elegance 2.0

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am looking at new Yeti and have the choice of either the Urban or elegance for the same price.

What would you recommend and reasons.

Thanks

Elegance, the urban is tasteless bling for the city.

Depends on the Elegance model, there are a number of variants in both engine type, power and then drive train.

I suggest you sit down with the brochure and a pen and paper and list all the features of the 2 models and then relate them to your driving needs.

The urban comes with the Amundsen radio and GPS, but maybe there are other goodies that the Elegance has that will make that more attractive.

From a driving point of view a 2wd Elegance yeti will feel almost the same as an Urban yeti

Same price???? - 2.0 TDi Elegance @ £20380 v 2.0 Tdi Urban @ £18335 - that's £2045 difference. I know you may get over £1000 discount on the Urban (if you shop around) so your dealer must be heavily discounting the Elegance to do at the same price. Although I have an Urban and am well pleased with it, it would seem that the "smart money" would go on the Elegance - a no brainer really.

A stupid statement - I would have expected something more professional from a fellow Yeti owner. Anyway - your thoughts are your thoughts, but I am sure not something shared by other Urban owners (me included).

I like the urban and even have the roof strips on my Elegance but 17" rims are not to my taste size wise.

Be interested to know what engine urban your comparing with what engine Elegance, as others have stated a new Elegance with the same motor should be the dearer option.

Bar the sat nav though the Elegance makes more sense; ESP, better lights, leather heated seats, corner fog, puddle lights etc.

My thoughts anyway.

Jacklitt states in his post heading - "Urban 2.0 v Elegance 2.0.

Oops somehow missed that :giggle::blush:

Long stress'y week at work; my excuse anyway.

Same price I'd go for the Elegance.

Urban positives are fancy alloys, wheel arch molding and slightly sporty seats.

Elegance positives are heated leather seats, auto wipers and lights, xenon headlights, Electronic Stability Control... the list goes on.

So it depends if you want funky looking or noticably better spec (and the safety of ESC).

As I spend most of my time in the car, I go for the spec. :)

For the same price? New or used? If new - without question the Elegance. If used then depends on condition and mileage and age.

Truthseeker; Is it really the truth you seek? Looks like someone touched a nerve!

Good question - I assumed used as Urban not been out that long for any used ones to appear. Could both be demos - let us know please jacklitt

Only nerve touched is that I love my Urban. Anyway, the Urban is based on the poster's SE with some nice extras ("Tasteless Bling").
