It started off as almost a bare shell and a few months of evening and weekend I finally got it MOT'd in time for last years polo show:

Its running the 3F engine (MPi 75bhp) with the correct GT gearbox. The engine was just rebuilt before I bought it 4000 miles ago by genesisGT, and its had an oil change done since then and a couple of new end plate gaskets. Other than a drilled airbox and a jetex panel filter the engine is std. Its had a new downpipe and exhaust inc cat.

The interior is G40, drivers side bolster is still quite firm, but the material is torn on the bolster. Both seat tilt and it has matching doorcards (which have slightly enlarged holes where the window winder handle sits as it came out of a car with electric windows. It also has new dash speakers and an Alpine Ipod headunit fitted.

Its on std polo brakes (239mm solid), 40mm springs and shocks, G-laderseite ARB blocks, Geds bars front and rear and 14" le Castellets with new 185/55/14 tyres (4000 miles use) - I'ver also got a new Polybush kit for the front TCA's which i can throw in with the sale.

The bodywork is pretty good for a 20 year old car, the paintwork comes up well with a polish. The battery tray is solid, there are about 5 small blisters on the roof (just about the a pillar at the corner of the sunroof), a small hole in the p/s A-pillar, and a little bit on the inside of the d/s door behind the door card. But nothing structural. At some point its had a little bump under the d/s tail light and sometimes with heavy rain the seam under the light leaks a little.

It also has a Hella grill with relay, and an home made upgrade headlight loom for bothe dipped and full beam, meaning the yellow tinted headlight bulbs are pretty bright (100W) Its got yellow front foglight lenses, but unfortunatley no projectr's - so I wired up bulbs to run in the foglights as sidelights. And it has a LHD p/s tail lights meaning matched fogs on the back - reverse lights shows as red though. And a 110dB airhorn!

Price is dependant on spec, but i'd like £950 as it sits or £700 on std wheels, with grill, fogs and radio removed.

MOT is until next August & Tax until Jan. I have loads of receipts from work i've done. and the original handbook for the original 1.0 engine.

The shell is on 106K, but engine is unknown other than a full rebuild with vw parts (knowing genesisGT) about 4000 miles ago.

The car has done what it was designed to do - prove my friends wrong that I could get it to the Polo show and helped me get over the loss of our child - so I am very attached to this vehicle - but its time for Kermit to move one and let someone else enjoy him! :)
