Can you adjust the beam height of fog lights octy1?

Featured Replies

As above, mine are very low, is this just the way of it or can they be lifted a bit?

Cheers

They're supposed to produce a short, low, wide, flat beam. This is how they keep from reflecting back off the fog and dazzling you.

So, no then. Thanks very much mate

yes and no :)

The whole mirror with low beam/high beam and fog lights are adjusting all together, because they are all fixed on the same assembley wich is the mirror

They're not supposed to be driving lights :)

I know that, just found them to be toooooo low, and wondered. Thanks

My problem with fog light heights started after I had the front end "re-modeled" and the garage left one fog light pointing up much higher than the other one.

On my Octavia, the horizontal black plastic grill that runs between the two fog lights comprises a long'ish centre grill with a short (15cm/6") black grill at either end which touches the fog light housing on each side.  This short black plastic grill can be easily jerked out - it only has robust little clips holding it in - and it will expose the screw fixings on the fog light PLUS a hexagonal socket screw,  This is what you need to turn to adjust the height of your fog lights.  Clockwise to lower the beam, anti-clockwise to raise it.  It's very simple and takes no more than 5 minutes.   I stuck a short plank in front and pencilled a line on it to calculate the movement and did the same on the other lamp to get them matching.

@Frog99 - Are you sure this is actually relevant to the Octavia 1, where the fog lights are projector units built into the same housings as the main/dip?

Probably not....
