mk2 fabia VRS smoke puff !

Featured Replies

just noticed that when in drive and cruising steady at between 30 - 40 mph in 5th/6th if i go to put my foot down sometimes a rattle comes from the engine almost sounding like a diesel and then a puff of smoke out the back as if its like a burning oil kind of smoke. took it to the dealers and got a technician to take it out with me and do u think it would happen. also pugged it in to the diagnostics machine and showed me the print out and everything was ok. Any ideas!!

I do not mind the puff of smoke. that how they have sooty tailpipes. Or many of them do.

Do not like the sound of you having a rattle.

How many miles has your car done & do you run on 98/99 ron petrol?

george

Sooty Tailpipe but never an oily/sooty residue on the rear of the car.

& no oil used, just petrol.

yeh my tail pipe looks exactly the same. also run mine on tesco 99 ron since ive had it. the rattle before the smoke puff doesnt happen all the time its only now and then.

I think you will be just fine.

Momentum is good.

Maybe next Oil change, get Castrol Edge or Mobile 1 or some quality oil, not the stuff Skoda garages put in.

Boot it a bit harder, and get the other nice noise as it drops to 3rd.

Do not look behind,

i often think that people must think that is a diesel Skoda they were just tailgating.

have fun.

If you have same problem i do then i have put it down to supercharger clutch ticking. Then when it grips it lets out blue smoke, has done this on more then occassion. If i didnt live 5hours from a skoda garagw i would have done something about it!!

Do you have oil consumption issues??
