Central locking problems, HELP!

Featured Replies

For the past couple of weeks my car has decided to lock and unlock itself intemitently. Today i found out it has something to do with the passenger door so tonight i took the membrain off to have a look for any broken wires. I couldnt find anything obvious but its mainly when i close the door. Im thinking water may have got into the solonoid but im stuck for ideas now. Also will any fabia door mechanism fit straight in the mk1 fabia vrs? thanks in advance

Just get a new car buddy, haha only jokin mate.. water in connections maybe? try getting a new locking system button on your door that switch may be faulty

its stopped doing it now i took the membrain off, when it was raining yesterday the locking motor was covered in water so thinking of covering it up and putting plenty of tape on lol what you doing about yours now?

It will be either wires broken in between the door + body.. or the door lock. Very common on fabias. My old 1 did it + door lock cured it. When its faulting + u open the door the interior light wont come on. This is also a clue because the control unit that turns the lights on isnt getting a message from the door lock saying its open.. so it doesnt turn the light on.
