Big dilemma please help!

These engines do like to chuck a rod if the wick is turned up, without changing internals to handle the large power increase. That sort of horsepower, would really be looking to mod a BAM block wih new uprated rods and other goodies.

I thought the BAM block was the same? Just forged rods etc

bam block is the same and it has slightly stronger rods ( not forged as such ) 20mm wrist pins instead of 19mm

Correct buddy think the BAM and APX block has the rods rifle drilled to provide better oiling of the pins same as the very early VW golf AGU engine although the BAM and APX has lower comp pistons fitted.
