Hi

Featured Replies

I've had a few cars in my time including a new Impreza Turbo in 2000. Family life has meant that since then I have had a number of different cars including a Fiesta 1.2 and now a Honda Civic 1.6.

I'd like to introduce a bit of fun back into driving and have been looking at the Fabia Vrs but to be honest the wife (who couldn't stand the Subaru) at the moment doesnt like the idea of a Skoda particularly a Fabia. She has her own car and I am looking to get something reasonably economical. Was looking at Clio's, i used to have a 16v, but they seem fragile.

I'm here to be convinced....and hoping :)

Looking at the Fabia or an Octavia

Personally I'd say they're both fine cars that will put a big smile on your face - it all comes down to size really. The Octavia is a greta family car with a HUGE load area..... the Fabia is obviously smaller.

Welcome,

Show her the JD power survey, and point out Renault et al while singing...

'how lowww can they goooo :o '

I'm guessing you dont want a Lexus and you had a Honda already so whats left at the very top, Skoda :)

Take your wife to a nice dealers and she will be impressed

I went after seeing the fabia vrs on fifth gear and never looked back since :)

Hi and Welcome.

Why doesn't your wife like the idea of a Skoda...as if we don't know. :(

JD Power, as already said, is a good example....Skoda only 2nd to Lexus with Fabia and Octavia joint 4th on a per model basis.

Look where Audi/VW/Seat came as well as Ford and Vauxhall.

If that still doesn't convince her show comparitive prices, fuel economy, performance and specs.

If that still does work....time to part-ex in the Mrs for one with a more progressive ECU. ;):D

welcome:)

Welcome to Briskoda. Test drive both and let us know which you end up buying - ie Octavia or Fabia. :D

Welcome! Although my wife was totally and absolutely prejudiced against skoda she didn't actually know what one was

She had some idea in her head it was a lada type car.

Took her to the garage .Signed for a 1.4 Fabia there and then. Loved it.3 years later, told her she could have whatever car she wanted (within reason of course ;) ) thought bout mx5.Took a spin in the vRS.Same story.Signed that day.Black magic fab that she wont share! (but I got a real one so I dont mind )

Apart from all the above she must have a proper test drive and she'll be hooked :D

I forgot to mention that my sons were totally anti Skoda and almost left home when we bought a Felicia. My modestly tuned 4X4 has totally changed their views. :D

My Skoda was 16th in last years cannonball run & 19 th the year before, dosent say a lot for Ferraris & BMW's does it !!

seriously we now have 2 Octavias mine is a lightly modded 4x4 & my wife has a 1.9 TDi, both great cars & totally reliable, mine gets shall we say a hard life & yet is still unbreakable.

My last car was an lightly modded Impreza STi3 which whilst being fun was unreliable, agricultural & I honestly believe slower than the Octy on the road despite having more bhp but with a crap power band.

My wife didnt like the Scoob either but loves the Octy
