2005 Estate boot lights

Featured Replies

Hi. Ive tried the search but cant find a thread where someone had fixed this.

My 12v boot socket works. My remote (key) release works. But both lights do not work. I took one out today (what a faff) to check the buld and they dont look like standard car bulbs as they have wierd connections. The light unit itself does not look like its designed for being took apart.

The only other odd thing that doesnt work is that when I use the key to open the boot, when I close it it down not auto lock again like it should. Maybe they two problems are linked.

Its going to a garage for the EGR valve on Weds so maybe I'll ask them about it.

OK, so while the EGR was being cleaned the man checked my lights and thinks its the boot latch. Does anyone know if its the bit on the tailgate or the bit inside the bumber that needs replacing? ALso is this an easy DIY job - parts seem cheap?

I thnk the octavia is sulking due to the arival of the newer fabia vrs. Everything seems to be breaking!

Me again. Sorry :)

So today I have installed a replacement boot catch (the bit that lives on the tailgate itself). However the lights are still not working :( Is there anything else to look at please? Could be that I have bough a used faulty boot catch form a scrapped car. Not happy :(

Will buy another one if this is definaley the source of the fault. Maybe a brand new part.
