Had abit of a knocking noise on front end for a while usually first thing on a morning when pulling right onto main road out of street, only sort of clonked every so often so didn't worry about it,

Went to blyton park today for a trackday my mate had organised, went in april and polished off 100 quids worth of optimax and never had a problem all day, not this time

Did sighting laps and then had some breakfast and then i went out, did about 5 laps and came out of corner foot hard down and bang, lost all revs, engine popping and banging like a guden, limped it back off track and had a quick look round and found it had blown a turbo hose off behind bumper so off came bumper to fix that, managed to swop hose clip with one off induction kit so all fixed,

So back out i went another 5 laps later and started to get a really bad vibration through pedal floor area and clonking noise, so off i came again had a looked round and couldn't see anything, checked wheel nuts etc and took it for a spin up road and all was fine so went back out and it was even worse so that was my day over.

Think its a dodgy cv joint as just about everything else front end wise has been changed and it only does it on tight cornering

Sounds like a good day gone bad .. sorry to hear about the issues you've had however i have recently found a good quality place to buy brand new O.E spec with 2 year warranty not reconditioned drive shafts cv joint kits etc and they deliver very quickly and there a good price .. i ordered a pair for my car at 3pm wednesday and they turned up at around 9ish thursday really good quality i fitted them thursday after work with no issues ..

My passenger side drive shaft are from them, next day delivery and both cvs were VW stamped
