vRS Estate - which rear caliper?

Featured Replies

My drivers side rear caliper has started leaking brake fluid out of the handbrake mech so I need to replace it. I've been looking at parts on eBay and VW Spares and have come up with some different part numbers.

The one on eBay is equivalent to - 1U0615424

The one on VW Spares is equivalent to - 8N0615424C

Will there be any difference? The eBay one comes pre-painted and works out slightly cheaper once postage is taken into account but I don't want to order the wrong bit. Car is a 2005 mk1 vRS estate.

Call TPS and ask em or a dealer?

It was more just to check that the vRS specific rears weren't hatch only or something daft like that and that I should be ordering normal estate ones. Guess I need to get off my bum and install xp and etka on my pc.

the guys on ebay have no stock, they are currently waiting on stock for the manufacturer. I have been waiting on them a while now and wish I hadn't bothered.

Same as the hatchback. ;)

Ordered the unpainted one from VW spares. Trust them more than an eBay part seller. And it's already been dispatched and should arrive tomorrow.

was gonna say I have a used pair available if anyone wants calipers to refurb

How much are you after? One of the bleed nipples feels like it's going to shear on my rear right.

I'll pm you
