My turbo has started to sound exactly like this and i have been told its on its way out?

I’m no mechanic but that sounds okay to me, it sounds very similar to my own VRS.

Sounds very much like the police siren syndrome? been told the turbo is on its way out

Exact same as mine but mine is getting louder and louder so it isnt right, i sent an email to the guys at Unit 18 and they were great in their reply, the stated that sounding like a siren is a good sign the turbo is dieing. They didnt try and force me to get the work done or anything, really helpful.

Turbo is now off the car and waiting for turbo technics to take it away and look at it, (all under warranty)

Can you hear it in the cabin but not really coming from the engine bay? mine started out whisper quite but people actually now turn round on the pavement as i drive past thinking im the police lol

I hear it mainly with the driver’s window down, my mate had an Audi A3 PD and that made the same sound also.

It sounds like the turbo may be on it's way to me! You cannot really say how long it will last but usually that is a sign of them going :( It is a pretty common thing to be honest! :(

the car is under warranty so should be sorted soon, turbo dynamics have collected the turbo to inspect, just hoping the find something wrong with it

Do you know anything about how a turbo is tested? im hoping turbo dynamics put it through its paces and come up with a result of it being broken.

Havent got the money to put a hybrid turbo on it myself lol

Sorry i meant turbo technics, the car is under warranty by the garage that sold me the car, they have paid for the turbo to be removed and sent to TT
