How does the top plastic cover on the top of the engine come off. I have looked for any possible fixings and tugged pulled but it will not come off. Is there a knack to this or does it need more brute force. I only want to change the Air filter and give it a bit of a clean under there.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you mean the large main cover it's secured with 4 screws, IIRC they're 1/4 turn anti-clockwise to undo, borrowed an image from google

some are a rubber bung pushed over a steel ball 3 or 4 need a good tug first time a little vaseline or silicone in each one makes next time easy
