Washer Resevoir

Featured Replies

Car is 2004 TDi 130 L&K

My rear screen wash stopped working and I've found that when I use it,I get a pool of screen wash by the RH front wheel.

I guessed from this that the pipe had come away from the pump.

I've only got a Haynes, and following that,I removed the two fixings from the fuel filter and coolant bottle and moved them to the side.Saying that, they didn't move far, there's too much connected to them.

The manual then says remove the two plastic nuts, and that's my problem,I can only find one at the top rear corner of the resevoir.

There's still something holding it,but I can't see where/what.

I've put it all back for work tonight, and will try again on Saturday,as that's meant to be dry(ish).

Sods law,got the MOT next week.

Rear screen wash isn't part of the MOT lol.

My pipe popped off mine, can't remember how I did it but it was a right fiddle to slip it back on

Thanks, that's one part of the problem solved.

I'll have another go on Saturday when I've got more time, and daylight.

You'll have the bigger washer than mine, so I'm not sure the easiest way of getting to the pump

getting to the lower plastic nut with the larger capacity tank is a PITA. Plenty of daylight is required. I can't remember for sure, but removing the drivers side headlight and indicator may well help (only a few torx screws and a bolt for the indicator)
