MotorSport news: IRC. Mikkelsen to miss Ukraine rally

Featured Replies

ŠKODA UK Motorsport will not contest the Prime Yalta Rally in Ukraine (14 to 16 September) following its eighth points-scoring Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) finish of 2012 at the Barum Czech Rally Zlín

Andreas Mikkelsen is the only driver to have contested all nine rounds so far of this year’s IRC. With drivers able to count their best eight scores out of a possible 13, ŠKODA UK Motorsport has chosen not to include the trip to Yalta for its defending IRC champion in its schedule for 2012.

Andreas finished fourth at last year’s Prime Yalta Rally despite losing two minutes with a puncture, two spins and a crash during the three-day event. It was an outstanding never-give-up performance that earned Andreas the Colin McRae IRC Flat Out Trophy.

“The Tarmac in Ukraine last year was very different to any other rally I’ve ever done; it’s very slippery in the dry and if it’s wet it will be really tricky,”

Any further questions please PM and ill do my best to find out :)
