Hi everyone,

I just want 2 share my expirance with my Skoda this was the longest drive i ever done.So i have Skoda Superb estate 2.0 tdi 170 DSG with all the toys exept sun roof.

The journey began from Oxfordishire France,Belgium, maybe 10miles in Hollande then Germany. In Germany some reson my tire pressure light whent on after 550miles dont know why :whew: So i stopt on first petrol station check the pressure everthing was fine.Back on German autobans  the beuaty off paddle shifts its soooo good specaly 4 overtaking its just so easy but i will say i wish another 80hp that will be perfect.100,120mph it looks and feels like am doing 80! 7h of driving in Germany i hit Austria i stopt at shell garage. Some austrian guy approach me asking me buy the car like "A Brit in Skoda what is going on"?

I said Skoda is fantastic car and great deal for your money getting Superb i will not make mistake.move on i decided 2 put this time V-power diesel the board computer is showing 540 miles  usually when i put other diesel the board comp showing 480 miles i did notice the difference in throttle respond and fuel consumption from 45mpg 2 48mpg Advice if you driving through Austria and Hungary make sure u pay 4 toll charges u can buy them at near border with Germany at any garages .Hungary hell :@ At moment hungarians are building a new (ring road) around Budapest the was traffic long 3 milesits call M0.The sat-nav was keep telling me "turn around when possible" Tomtom 825 Europe was rubish :@ Thanks Google maps i pull out from there i end up this village call or OCSA :wonder: every 10meters there was prostitute on the road WTF"My misses was like did know about this place ?Love  blame the sat-nav am just driver  .From Hungary i hit Serbia which bad in terms of roads was just bad when i stopt one the toll charges i have gypsys kids running around the car trying to sell you watches and sunglasses just mess i will suggest if want drive through Serbia i will recommend DAY TIME (thats what i done on way back) but anyway

i reach my wild destination Zajecar east Serbia the place i was born.

The car was great sooo happy pretty much everything i just remember there was some fog in Belgium the Xenon lights were fantastic

The question is: Would i do this again in Skoda Superb Estate ? Absolutely

Brilliant fella. I did 1024 miles in 15 hours back in August (both ways), 6th year I've done that drive. Comfort and fuel economy top draw! Only the 330d came close but I didn't need the extra power and passengers love the space...

Sounds like a great drive. Did a similar drive (ride) on a BMW bike a few years ago but a little more leisurely. I got caught by a new (then) one way system in Bratislava but luck led to me to the tourist centre where I was given an up to date (paper) map to find my hotel. If you want more power then the only answer is the V6 but you miss out on fuel consumption big time. I can only dream of getting 480 miles to a tank on open roads :-( I have yet to do a long drive here in Australia (more than 800 miles) but I could do over 6,000 miles easily without leaving the country or doubling back. I would like to go to the Northern Territory where they are thinking about bringing back "No Speed Limit" on the highways! I saw 220 KpH on my Audi but 250 would be good :-)

I do remember leaving Rome many years ago and seeing a lot of "ladies" standing by the side of the road. I realised pretty quickly they were not hitch hikers.

Phew - even just reading that was an experience!

Hungary hell :@ At moment hungarians are building a new (ring road) around Budapest the was traffic long 3 milesits call M0.

They've been widening/resurfacing the M0 southern link (like our M25) for the past three years.

We got caught in a three hour jam last year on our way to Romania in the Hymer. In 30+ degrees it was not fun.

This year was marginally better in that the traffic wasn't stationary for long periods and the weather was much cooler. On the way back we went cross country and found some pleasant roads.

For the price of the road toll, driving in Hungary does not represent good value. I make a point of never buying fuel in the country, preferring to refuel with cheap Romanian diesel near the Hungarian border.
