Winter protection.

Featured Replies

As many of you are aware winter is fast approaching us now and I could really do with sorting the paintwork out on the fab before the really bad weather get's here but I just dunno what to use on it.

In the past I have gone for a polish over with P1 Polish and usually a pass over with Poorboys Blackhole glaze aswell followed by 2 coat's of DoDo juice Orange crush. I'm just wondering whether you would suggest anything different to use instead?

The paintwork is by from the best and could do with a proper going over but need to find some time but just after some decent protection for the winter months really.

Collinite...Very very durable and reasonable costs

I use 845 Insulator Wax its a lot easier to use and buff off..Great wax

It will give you 6 months of protection

I've been reading about a few Nano sealant's and one which caught my eye was Wolf's Chemical's Hard Body, but my understanding is that the car shouldn't have any polish or wax on the paintwork for when it is applied am I correct?

Yes..You will need to completely Detox your car of all products and then wipe down with IPA prior to application

To Detox..I use Farecla G3 Detox Shampoo (Fairy liquid will do the same job)...A liberal application of APC after claying the paintwork with Bilt Hamber Medium Clay will be sufficient

I'd go over the car with iron-x too for good measure

try this kit , the carlack should remove all previous products and does a decent job of hiding defects and leave its own protection, then top it with a couple of coats of the wax on top

i recently did this combo on a friends new car a pale blue volvo 04 plate, he was really astounded how good it looked, he even said if it had looked like that in the garage he would have paid £500 more for it!

Wolf's Hard Body is where it's at. Had my vRS pro detailed yesterday and the finish is amazing. Beading was insane and even in silver, there are deep reflections. Car is 10 years old and as covered 157k.

Other than that, I've always used Collinite 476S in the past and it's a great product.
