Poss problem after remap

Featured Replies

Had the motor remapped mid week and noticed on full throttle all is well :) however if im on half ish throttle letting the car accelerate more Eco friendly it's not so smooth and when I come of the peddle it seems to boost surge a little . Spoke to the garage and they've told me to update the spark plugs as it mite be losing its spark ? Does this make sense ? It was a stage 2 remap mods are sai delete , PVC simplication ,tip, cai, downpipe decat , cat back exhaust , larger smic

get them to log the the car and see why its doing it !!!

I've spike to them about it and they've told me to change the plugs before they will do anythin . That was after they said it was fine when it left here speech !

Can't say I was impressed with psi tuning when I purchased something from them, customer care doesn't seem to be their strong point.

I don't wanna rip into them to much just yet as im gonna change the plugs anyway coz they do look past their best . And if it solves the problem I'll eat humble pie but if it was a obvious problem and they knew about it while doing the remap why not tell me before I left or ring me while it was there to advise on them . (dropped car off before 10am picked up at 5pm) I got the remap at a discounted price as I work for a fast fit garage not far from them and have sent work their way before . Just hope I've not been shafted with a dodgy remap :(

I always found Andy to be very helpful in the past. As always you have to give them the opportunity to resolve the problem. Stage 2 is always going to be more involved than a generic stage 1 but they should have noticed any issues when test driving post mapping. Did they recommend any particular plugs? Cheapest option is to go for NGK BKR7E plugs which can be had off ebay for

They've recommended fr6-q's . I've checked mine and they are rough so I'll be changing them then back up to them for another check over . Also I've just finished the breather mod (vented atmospheric) and its less noticeable now .

Is it mapped for venting the crank gases or cannot be just done? What smic have you got as I prefer them to fmic's for keeping the stock look. I have tt twin set ready to go in but in the future when funds allow for going BT I want the uprated smic's

I'm not sure if it's mapped with the venting in mind . I did mention it when I dropped it off as the pipe work was all over the place while I played around with the location for the catch can . Tbh I wasn't told an awful lot about the remap just that he explained the graph and that it was well within the threshold of the turbo so should still be reliable (cars done 120k) . Eml came on tonight on the way home from work so gonna plug it into the dianogstic's tomorrow and see what's up .

The smic is a turbo revs one can't fault it really for the price :)
