quick vrs/dpf question

Featured Replies

just reading my vrs owners manual this aft...page 143 mentions the vehicle data sticker (found in boot or in service book)

It says if you have the following on your sticker 7gg 7mb or 7mg then you have a diesel particle filter. On my sticker I have 7mg meaning I have a dpf!

A typo at Skoda or have I anything to worry about?Does anyone else have same codes on their sticker?

I did not know that there was a 'vRS Owners Manual' only seen a 'Fabia Owners Manual' & page 143 says.

'Diesel particulate filter* (diesel engine)'

Code 7GG, 7MB, or 7MG on the vehicle data sticker, see > fig. 132 indicates that yout vehicle is equipped with a diesel particular filter, ....'

Since you 'do not have a diesel engine,' i am surprised you even read on,

My code is '7 MG' but not diesel engine fitted.

Of course I read on,I sold the Monte to get away from the dpf....,the point is that code on the sticker is incorrect, surely?

I'd take it straight back to the dealer and ask them to remove the dpf ;-)

Just kidding, as above its a generic manual so just ignore it

Just put 7mg into the VW decoder and it comes with

7MG = Emission standard EU5

http://igorweb.org/e...ec/default.aspx

Would obviously apply to both fuel types, and it was this legislation that brought in the DPF I believe.

As i see it the code is correct if the vehicle has a Diesel Engine,

as it does not have a diesel engine,

it matters not a jot, you have a petrol Engine and a sticker with a code 7MG.

Or am i missing something?

Eh? What happened here? Looks like all the "banter" from this afternoon between George and ChrisRS has mysteriously vanished.......
