Yeti DSG

Featured Replies

Hi,

My 2 year old Yeti 1.2DSG has started trying to run in too high a gear for the road conditions - e.g seventh at under 30mph and the engine appears to "labour" on rural roads because it has selected too high a gear.

Does anyone know if this is common situation or could there be a Mechatronics fault on the DSG?

Thanks

Take it to the dealer. That is not right, even my diesel DSG won't go into 6th at less than about 35mph.

Keep us updated.. Hope it's nothing serious...

Thanks for the interest. I will update when I've had the car back to the dealer, but guess what - the Yeti seems to have behaved itself better today on urban roads! I intend to give it a longer test before returning to the dealer.

The possibility of a Mechatronics fault with the DSG on VWs is something I've seen mentioned somewhere and that sounds serious although my Yeti is still within warranty. Makes me wonder if there will be problems with Yetis generally after 3 years.
