Well after a fairly relaxed xommute home the other day (mainly dual carriageway/motorway. With a little in town driving over 30ish miles i returned what i considered a very good 54MPG.

This was going no higher then 65mpgh keeping my revs as low as possible, and doing my best to read traffic to advoid braking/reaccelrating.

Now on a average commute on this route i noramlly get 40-45 sometimes 48mpg so was really chuffed with this result.

Yes had the same sort of results with mine. now got the VRS only getting 32.6 mpg only done 115 miles so see what i get when run in a bit more

This pretty much match the average i was getting in my corsa CDTi which is impressive, but it takes a lot of hardwork and forward thinking to get there. Its not a million miles away from claimed figures really.

Different engine I know but my 1.6 Monte returns about 55 Mpg on my journey to work , if I drive economicaly I get more. the best I've had was a trip of 68.2 Mpg?? (but I've never got that again)

I'm now regularly seeing 60mpg (by the end of a 20 mile round trip to nursery), it gets up there in the afternoon, morning run is usually mid 50s. 1.6 CR TDI.

I have seen it loosening up recently (it's now 5 months old, 6000 miles) and if I drive it more gently (an effort due to gearing), it creeps up to 60.

I'm happy, as even if I punt it along it gives 50+.

I do like the idea of trying to get 70mpg though and getting the advertised 666 miles out of a tank!

If im punting the fabia around i rarely see anything bellow 35, under normal driving i can usely get in to mid to late 40s, but this was an exceptional evening. Very impressive for petrol tho

Very made up with the TSI

On a day to day basis my 1.6 TDI is doing around 60mpg with a 25 min journey to work, however the other day I drove to Retford, about 40 mins and got this;

I was pretty gobsmacked, its almost the advertised mileage!

Your MPG looks pretty good though especially compared to my old 75 bhp 1.6 Astra which did 35 mpg.

As ive said above its a very impressive figure.

The brochre surgests 42.8 urban 64.2 extra urban and combined 54.3.

Now thats not bad at all then
