Symphony radio - only one channel

Featured Replies

Recently bought an 03 Fabia with the Symphony radio/cassette.

Found it only has sound from the front left speaker.

Setting the geo button to full rear gives silence.

Setting it to full front right, silence also.

So no sound from 3 out of 4 speakers - any ideas why?

Thanks

David

Could be several things given the age of the car.

1) Blown amp in the headunit,

2) Blown speakers

3) dodgy wiring at either end.

I would probably go with the wiring, remove the headunit and make sure that the correct wiring is present. If the previous owner had fitted an aftermarket unit in the past badly, then the wiring loom of the car could have been butchered to get it to work. Then check the speakers are all present and correct, again because perhaps the original speakers were replaced prior to sale.

I have done this myself many years ago and refitted OEM headunits that were either not wired at all, or worked enough to pass a turn on /off test.

Depending on the model you may not have rear speakers at all.

Hadn't thought of that - it is a Comfort

Would the build sheet be any help - if so, how do I get a look at it ?
