Hi, I have just had the engine warning light come on, on my 06 1.4 tdi fabia. It is still running fine, is it worth buying a cheap cable/or scanner from ebay like this one?

or do I really need to get it to a garage? or can anyone recomend a better/cheaper cable or scanner please?

EBay blue cable and download the free version of vcds. Or if you've got an android phone a Bluetooth obd adaptor got mine off eBay and torque from the play store

thanks raf, never knew about the bluetooth adapter, I will pick one of them up they look useful

Torque only works on the android phones, doesn't work on iphones.

Torque is really good, gives you loads of live info on the engine and tells you of any fault codes and you can also delete them
