Is my Fabia OBD2?

Featured Replies

Looking at getting a code reader but don't really understand what is going on. It is for a 1.9tdi PD 03 plate.

I have a 16 pin pinky/purply connector in my car and therefore presume it is OBD2? But a lot of the eBay listings etc. say they are for 2004 onwards diesels. Will they still work? Or does my fabia use this older 'KKL' system?

I did read some topics on here saying about the blue cable and VCDS-lite which I am tempted to do. However, right now I need a code reader that reads my girls Fiat Punto (piece of crap) as she keeps getting the engine management light so I am trying to work out if I can kill two birds with one stone!

Thoughts?

Something like:

Excellent. Thank you!

Interestingly, having a read on the Fiat forums they suggest that a vagcom 409.1 OBD2 blue cable can be used with the fiats, too, using fiatecuscan.net - I may go for a blue cable after all!

It's deffo OBD2, not OBD1Kenobi

I have the vagcom 409.1 OBD2 blue cable and until now I could not make it work!
