Cutting Bump Stops

When fitting updated suspension, it's often mentioned you should cut the rear bump stops.

The question is, how much do you cut off and where from.

Do you cut from the thin end or do you cut out of the middle and stick it back together.

I've seen various options, but noticed I've got the 133mm rather than 118mm bump stops fitted at the rear.

If anyone has the instructions for the rear of the B12 kit, then that'd be great as I ended up with two copies of the front instructions.
