Monte Carlo's for sale with the wrong wheels

Featured Replies

perhaps the original customer order specced those wheels? I know the mum in law asked for, and got, different wheels for her Fab Scout.

i would ask for the orignals would not mind the gigaros but not the 16 comet ones makes it look like an elegance

Yes I did with the Yeti but had a battle doing it, had to write to the manufacturer direct in the end as SUK flatly refused. Hence why I was wondering about these two.

Are they smaller? Could be the buyer wanted to soften the ride. Seen a octy vRS on some hideous Skoda wheels.

Looks far better than the black ones IMO

I did see a thread about is ages back. SWTSMBO is having the discussion about getting a 170 Yeti with 16's. Her mum, I should point out, is in Hamburg, and Skoda Germany bent over backwards for her. She even got the Scout in Rallye Green. Reason for the wheel swap was as mentioned by Gadgetman, she wanted a softer ride.

Not surprising then, SG seem to provide a lot more for their customers on the web site, such as lists of tyre and rims sizes suitable for each model. SUK on the other hand are the total opposite and work against customers; ask them for anything different and it's always 'technically impossible' even though as far as the manufacturer is concerned, give them the codes and they will build it, e.g. my Yeti and your Scout.

Are they new or used? If used, you get it "as is" I suspect.

You could doubtless purchase the correct wheels from the dealer.

And use it to hammer down the price given its now not correct spec.

I guess not everyone likes black wheels.

As alloys can be had as a dealer fit option then it is quite likely that the original owner wanted (and paid extra) for silver alloys.

I'm sure the dealer / original owner wouldn't have had any issues in selling the black alloys on as they are very much flavour of the month.
