Hi All,

purchased a new Fabia 1.6TDi two years ago got fed up with Ford dealers and thought i would try a change. Its done about 13000 miles so far ,mostly long journeys i hasten to add, and required two software updates to cure" rough running". Overall i am quite pleased with the car but the dealers? If you have a problem then you seem to get two stock answers, "They all do it" or "We cannot find any problem"

Perhaps i judge them too harshly.

i also own a 98 MGF, now theres a fun car for you, the garage i use may not be up to Skoda standards but their stock answer is "it used to be a common fault" now easily cured.

Faults aside, value for money its got to be in a league of its own. It was vat free when purchased and any extras were also vat free, i think it would have been cheaper to buy a new spare wheel than a new tyre!

MPG? somewhere between 55 and 65 although it once came up as 70 mpg, looked at that figure with sceptism. Long journeys are no problem and if you put your foot down it will go.

One last comment, do not buy the centre armrest as an optional extra, gets in the way of the hand brake, still it was vat free.

Remember its not what you drive its how you drive it, enjoy.

Hello Falcone and welcome along

You've got the dealers sussed in short time :D

Fortunately there's plenty of good advice and helpful folk on here and there's people with VCDS who are willing to check things, turn options on or off etc for the price of a couple of beer tokens, enjoy the car, it sounds like you already are.
