What do you miss?

Featured Replies

I don't get the footrest thing (have never had one). There's plenty of room to rest your foot on the floor - what's the benefit of a footrest?

Na Boot light, Paint inside the doors and no spare tyre. What I doooo like is the noise the engine makes.

Yes its the angled piece of plastic where you can rest your left foot if required.

Ours has a foot rest. I'm fairly sure it's only missing in cars made for left hand driving. I'd miss that very much.

I miss three things:

- Illuminated window switches

- Engine heat indicator

- Seat memory - our old car (Vectra C) didn't have that either and it's a huge hassle finding the right setting after the wife has used the car. It takes forever to make it feel just right again. Luckily she doesn't drive that often.

Snuggles - sitting for long periods with your foot flat on the floor is not as comfortable as with it on a footrest. But I'm talking 30 minutes plus (so a motorway schlep) so would I do that enough in a Citigo to be annoyed?

Nope.

Having had the footrest in my last two Fabias i thought i'd miss not having one in the Citigo, but i don't miss it actually.

I miss not having a passenger's window control on the driver's side and seats that remember where they are when i put someone in the back seat.

Major:

Lack of seat belt hight adjustment. I'm average hight with a bit of a tummy and the belt was constantly rubbing around my collar and neck. Very, very annoying.

Lack of passenger window control from drivers seat is bad. Made navigating tight spaces in heavy rain, when you just need a bit more visibility of the mirrors very difficult. And all that just to save what - 50 pence of plastic switch?

There is nothing to rest your foot (as described earlier) but also arms on during longer trips. Door trim is too low, door trim surroundings are curved, colour coded and slippery.

Minor issues:

Bonnet opening handle on passenger side.

Fuel tank is tiny.

yes i agree with the tank, i swear i can see the needle move on the fuel gauge :(

How big is the tank? Fabia is 45 litres. Given similar economy claims for Fabia and Citigo, any reduction in tank size would be irritating.

If it's that small, can't you reach the passenger switch from the drivers seat? Annoying, but do-able?

Arm rest - that might grate.

Bonnet release - a common thing, even on more expensive cars (Fabia is passenger side, swear the Superb was too). Golf's isn't though...got wet last week trying to locate the thing in the rain, finding I was on the wrong side of the car, all to fill up the wife's washer bottle as she "forgot" and I had to use it...

I guess it's irritating that some cheap features haven't been included, in the interest of...cheapness! You'd think that to include them would make the ownership experience significantly better for a minimal effort at the plant.

The tank is 35L or around 800km. That's very reasonable I think.

I can reach the passenger switch from the drivers seat and I don't have particularly long arms. It's not safe to do while driving, though.

Yes, I really miss the arm rest too but it'll cost around £250 from the dealer. Perhaps I'll buy a no-name arm rest at some point.

I just fitted the Seat OEM armrest into my Mii at the weekend. Part costs £110. It also fits in the Up! so I'd imagine it will fit the Skoda

I think I would miss the drivers foot rest.Left hand drive models get one, surely it cannot be more exspensive to fit one on right hand drive cars?.

There are so many good things that the car does have (Hill Start Assist on a budget car etc) that I will just wait until more options come along then fit them. I can't see me adding speakers as the standard system is fine.

One thing though that I thought was a bit tight - only one Remote Key Fob.

Where did you order the parts? Is it difficult to install?

I picked the parts up from my Seat dealer (part no 1SL061100) or alternatively you can get them online. If I managed to install one I'd say its not that difficult. You remove the plastic cover over the handbrake (which has the rear cup holder). You drill two holes in it and cut a bit more out (which I did with a dremmel). Bolt the supplied mounting bracket to the chassis (via existing bolts), replace the cover and screw on the armrest. The instructions are very thorough, so take your time and you can't go wrong.

The part is £110 and I was quoted £75 for fitting. Someone on the Up! was also quoted £32, so it seems to vary. £250 to supply and fit is a bit extreme

Yes, £250 is extreme. Taxes and labour is way too expensive over here.

I just found the arm rest on amazon.de (can't link from work computer) for around 60EUR. Very tempting but now I'm unsure if we'll miss the cup holder.
