Another Newbie!

Featured Replies

Hi All,

New to site and currently waiting for delivery of first Skoda, Octavia diesel estate Vrs Blackline, approx. 2 weeks away. Wanted white but sold out! Paid the extra for Met Race Blue as I've previously had a black car which showed every bit of muck. Fantastic price from local dealer and what a spec!

Part-exing Passat Sport 2.0 petrol estate (nearly 10 years old), just couldn't see the sense in spending more hard earned cash on a lower spec VW or Audi.

Ironical, when I paid the deposit for Blackline I hadn't even sat in a Vrs let alone driven one, still haven't driven one. It was reading all the reviews, talking to Skoda owners, including Vrs owner, and having the comfort that the Skoda's are VW/Audi in disguise, built in a state-of-the-art factory.

The brand image is not important to me. The fact that every other taxi on the road at the moment is seemingly a Skoda, and the police and emergency service are running Vrs's is - says a lot I'm sure.

Also first diesel for me. I need better economy as annual mileage 15K. Hoping to get 50+mpg on commute into Manchester along M56. Passat returned a commendable 36 - 38mpg average, but I am a conservative driver (very!). No doubt I'll open the Vrs up every now and again, believe you have to to purge out the diesel filter from time to time.

Looking forward to driving Vrs for first time and reading about others experiences.

Welcome to Briskoda Griffo :hi: Nice choice of colour, shame about the engine :bandit: but can understand the reasoning

Hi and welcome aboard.

Your right about having a black car, as my Furby is my first black car. When it is clean it looks brilliant but once you have been out in it all the dirt shows up on it.

I'll watch out for you as I toootle around south Manchester and north Cheshire. Look for a Fabia dressed up in driving school colours and Brisky decals!

How do Griffo and welcome along

hello and welcome x
