Samsung 40" LCD tv problem

Featured Replies

Before I do my usual trick of buying a replacement immediately, is there someone one this site who is a telly tech or had experience of this problem? My 4-5 year old Samsung HD LCD tv screen has just started to misbehave today with thin red and green lines speckling the screen. They're shifting continuously and are most marked where dark tones are supposed to be. Is it a TCN or LCD board?

Hdmi or scart leads can do this too. I've not long replaced a Hdmi lead that was causing picture issues.

HDMI leads switched around this am because no picture on start up. Great picture again, so perhaps it was not sitting right in the HDMI socket. Oh yes wife had moved Sky box a bit......

Haha good job you wiggled some cables rather than just buying a new tv! That's why tech support usually ask you to unplug everything and plug it back in! Sometimes it is a simple fix!

I've heard of Samsungs with dodgy edge connectors do this as well, a whack around the frame surround sorts it out.
