Do I have a serious problem?

Featured Replies

Ok last night I was dropping some friends home after a party. Dropped the first one off no problem, went to pull away from dropping the second off and there's a loud grinding noise coming from the front. So I get out there's nothing hanging off, the clutch feels fine and so the gear box. So go to pull away again and the noise is still there. So put it in reverse and it goes away. So drive to my house and go to reverse in the drive and the grinding noise is back. Put it into first and go forwards it stops.

Any ideas what it could be??

Cheers

Mike

Could be brake pads/disc, stones in the caliper etc

I had this, it was my disc protecter at the front had bent in on something as it was corroded, as i drove forward it folded in, and when i reversed it folded back out.

Give that a check and pull it off the disc a bit, and check for lumps of rust or stones falling in

My dad had something similar with his Mercedes, turned out to be a wheel bearing carrier issue. Could be similar in this case? Just an option :)

So I had something like this, it was a stone stuck in the calliper so it was
