off central steering wheel when removing sub frame

Featured Replies

Just had my console bushes done today, when picking the car up the steering wheel wasn't straight. Garage said it was strange because the tracking was done and it was right. Told them I had the same problem last time the sub frame was removed by jabba to fit my clutch, on re assembly everything was right but yet again an off central steering wheel? They found this very strange? Anyone had any experiance with issues like this? Takin car back in on Wednesday to sort it. They said because the tracking is right they might have to re position the wheel.

Sorry I have some how managed to post this twice, using my phone ya see.

Steering rack is attached to subframe. If subframe or rack moves which they do it will put your wheel out.

Surly a garage who do things like this daily would know this and sort it?especially jabba who looked all confused when I went back to say my wheel was way off center?

What bushes did you end up with in the end?

Never mind, saw your other thread...

Hope they straighten out your wheel.

Lol thought I'd start a new thread regarding the wheel. Rather then confuse the two

Don't let them take the steering wheel off adjust, they should have re-tracked the car when the steering wheel is dead straight.

So they need to lock the steering wheel dead straight and then carry out another re-track.
