Rad Change - How Easy?

Featured Replies

Hi all, soon going to be doing my first rad change on our Mk 1 (02). Are we talking relatively straightforward or anything to watch out for?

Many thanks

Pain in the arse, You have to dismantle the whole front of the car to get to it!

Took me about 3 hours with a tea break and hunting for tools! That was on a VRS, not sure how much it differs on a MPI

I can verify with brads on this..had to take front bumper off..headlights out..and that was a pain in the arse!

But with a bit of patience youll be fine jusy make sure you dont lose any bolts/nuts/screws!

Just to update, completed today approx 1.5 hrs, a bit fiddly in places but not too bad on the 1.4 mpi, 02 plate. Overall cost around £75 inclusive of antifreeze. Definitely DIY'able
