Noisey climate controll fan

Featured Replies

Hay there ive an 04 vrs and when u put the fan on the climate control it makes a little rattle noise. Ive searched the forum and found that in the fabia leaves can get stuck in the pollen filter and do this. Anyone came across this on the octavia? Will this solve my problem. And also where is pollen filter in the octavia. Cheers

Pollen filter is under the windscreen scuttle panel which can be a pita to remove

If it's still clicking when you've removed all the leaves, do a fault code scan and see if the V71 flap motor is throwing up an error as that will make a clicking noise if it's broken. Lots of threads on here about them but they are a pain to replace and not cheap.

Cheers prople. Its not really a clicking its more like a faint scape noise.

Does it get worse if you turn the speed up on the fan?

Or can you trace the noise to the passenger side left hand side of the lower dash? Think that's where the recirculation thing is

faint scape noise - sounds more like the V71 flap motor / recirc issue to me.

About two years ago I had a dried leaf or something stuck inside the fan unit somewhere, with a noise as you described. Increasing fan speed made little difference. It gradually got quieter and then disappeared over a two week period. End of problem.

I guess whatever it was either dried out and broke up or just fell away from the fan impellor.

I would just leave it for a while and see if it gets less of a problem. If it doesn't, then investigate other suggested causes.
