Aftermarket Head unit questions

Hi, Looks like that should be everything you need from the kit.

I learnt the hard way, bought the stereo, and then needed the parts after.

Parts I needed were the Fascia trim, Ariel ISO adapter and the extra lead (to keep presets etc).

All works well for me. I got the http://www.amazon.co.uk/JVC-KD-R322-Receiver-Stereo-Pre-Out/dp/B004IYO4AG/ref=sr_1_18?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1350575614&sr=1-18 but cheaper on eBay, and it matches the dashboard lights.

Alan.

The new radio will come with keys so they are pointless.

The wiring harness is not required so also pointless.

Chances are the radio will come with a female to male converter aerial plug so you

will be able to convert the female wire already in car.

The adaptor plate will fit badly or break, plus it won't be

the right colour plastic to match dash.

Use the genuine skoda trim in the right

colour plastic which clips into holes already in the dash. It's about £3.50 from

main dealer. >>>

Apart from that all you'll need is the radio. Everything you need will already

be in the box.

Before fitting switch the bullet connectors in the radios own harness round

so that the red and yellow wires are swapped over. ie. yellow->red and red->yellow

which will fix the power and station memory issue.

Sony radios generally work well with the OE radio aerial so as long as you

have the OE aerial on yours you'll not be needing a signal booster either.

Job done.
