boot trim removal.

Featured Replies

anyone got a guide to remove the plastic boot liners on each side?

im wanting to add more lighting in the boot through the air vents as the single light is fairly pants.

should be easy wiring it up to the normal boot light once the trims out. will do a how to once i get it done.

Because I had to install my boot side hooks I vaguely remember that:

1) you need to remove the plastic "step" (well that is how I call it :giggle:) around the lock. 2) then remove the side panels and 3) the white panels above them as well. I can ask my mech for more details the next time I see him so I can help further.

In my boot I have installed one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-LED-Interior-Courtesy-Lights-Door-Footwell-Trunk-Lamp-Xenon-White-No-Error-/280801360692?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ASkoda&hash=item416110bb34 the other in the glove compartment.

They are far superior than the stock and lights the boot well. If you manage to make a hole on the other side of the plastic panel and install a second one you will have plenty of light. Don't mess with the vents you might need them for something else in the future.

I was going to add lights stips behind the vents so the light would shine through them into the boot. I've used the ebay LED strips before for lighting my fish tank and they've lasted well over a year so I think they'd be fine the job.

Cheers though, so its the rear plastic trim at the lock first... Got a few days off so I'll give it a bash!
