Air con dust caps - how many?

Featured Replies

My Yeti had a service earlier this week, which included an air con service. I had the bonnet up last night and I noticed a couple of black dust caps nestling against the seal below the windscreen. Further inspection within the engine compartment revealed a couple of what looked like pressurisation valves on narrow silver pipes - I assume part of the air con. Lo and behold, the caps fitted those valves.

If I hadn't spotted the loose dust caps, or if they'd fallen out before I found them, I'd never have known that the valves were there and should have dust caps fitted.

My question is: are there only two such valves? If so then I'll just mention it on the customer satisfaction questionnaire when it comes through from Skoda. If there are more then I need to know where they are so that I can check them all, and give the garage a row if any of the others are missing.

Just two, one on the high pressure line and one on the low side. Should both be near the screen wash filler

Thanks, that sounds right. Here's a couple of photos of them after I put them back:8108561692_1d6ddd483d.jpg8108554997_fda9a2ef6b.jpg

Does that look right?

Sounds like it's just something to mention on the customer satisfaction questionnaire, then.

Then again, maybe they never actually completed the air con service? Might pop in and have a gentle word after all...

Yes, that the right place for them, guess the dealer forgot to put them back on. My Audi ones are both missing.
