Pollen filter removal

Featured Replies

Hi all, I must be missing something but I can't remove the plenum chamber cover to access the pollen filter. The manual says that early models have screws securing it but I can't see any.(2000 model SLXI 1.8 T, before facelift)

Also while I'm posting, I can't see how to do a 'search' on the forum, not my day.

my old mates xreg was under the scuttle pannel so it has to be there under the passengers side of the windscreen, his was pre facelift, hope this helps

Also the search bar there are sub menus "this topicf" "forum" "members" click on this topic to change accordingly

Thanks for the reply, I know it's there but the panel wont budge and afraid I'll break it.

You should be able to lift it just enough to slide the old one out and new one in.

The scuttle panel if you are leaning over it, pull it basically towards you, directly away from the screen.

Cheers, I'll give it a go tomorrow.

It helps if you can warm the panel up with a hair drier (or the like) as when they are cold they can be quite brittle and break more easily. The panel should be pulled out at 90 deg to the screen angle to minimise chance of breaking it. It can take a bit of wiggling to get it past the bonnet hinges too.

yup they are a fecker, you have to be assertive when doing it, but kind of even too, watch for the washer jet hose thats attached when you pull it out.
