Another retro-fit OEM Bluetooth thread

Featured Replies

Apologies for going over old ground I've spent over a week trawling this forum and the depths of the internet and am still none the wiser.

I'm getting a new FL Octavia VRS manual with Maxidot, obviously being a manual I couldn't spec Bluetooth.

So I've been exploring the options and there is just so many part numbers.

I've looked at carsystems.pl and seen

http://www.carsystems.pl/vw-bluetooth-kit-7p6035730l-retrofit-newest-version%2cid417.html

when I emailed and asked if this was suitable for my car he pointed me in the direction of this one that they recommend with the Bolero units

http://www.carsystems.pl/vw-bluetooth-kit-3c8035730b-retrofit%2cid213.html

The on the recommend one though says can't be used without MFSW, he says on email that this is still ok as it can be used through MFA+ (I presume maxidot and associated stalk), it also has a GSM antenna

Has anyone got either of these units and say what they get through it, I'm looking for stereo streaming and to be able to use Maxidot and the Bolero to use the functionality. I know he's the expert and is quite highly regarded but I'm a sceptical kind of guy (especially as there's a €30 difference in price)

I also have reversing parking sensors to potentially confuse matters further (as the Bolero screen is also used for that).

I've ordered VCDS so any coding won't be a problem.

Any ideas, advice and part numbers of your units would be greatly appreciated.

Excuse my ignorance what's the benefit of a D, more out of interest as I see the model numbers change frequently and just wondered what the upgrade is (as the letters go up I presume higher letter is better).

Also what MDI module would I need, as the BT is coming up a lot cheaper if I go the route mentioned in this thread (thanks phsroberts).
