Brakes wont bleed

Featured Replies

Now im not a total novice with bleeding brakes but this has my head baffled.

got my new disks and pads fitted but when i pump the pedal it goes hard and i undo the bleed nipple and nothing come out and the pedal doesnt go down. so much so that i removed the bleed nipple completely and nothing comes out.

With the wheel off i can spin the disc......press the pedal and i cant.

Is it as simple as the bleed nipple hole being blocked? Brakes are still spongey but work.

tryed bleeding it from the master ? seems you've got a airlock some where in your system

Sounds like a vacuum pipe might be split. Although doesn't explain why it wont bleed through nipple. Try this: remove caliper and get someone to gently genlty pump the brake pedal until the piston is 3/4 out, then undo the main brake pipe nut on yhe caliper whilst angling it so its right at top. Then squeeze the piston back in and the fluid will come pouring out of the seams. Have someone with a spanner ready to tighten the nut as the air is all expelled and only fluid comes out. Important the nut is at top so air can eape out first

Then of course bleed the hidden nipples right near resevoir as seasach said

I think it's due tothe caliper being seized. From drivin it about the disc is scorching hot. It's pig to my mate for a pre mot check tomorrow so will see what he thinks

Also bought a second Octavia so might back it off that ;-)
