Rear Indicator Issue

Featured Replies

When I switch on my left indicator it works normal but as soon I apply my foot brake the indicator flashes rapidly. What is even stranger is that when the indicator is flashing normally the rear lamp dims on and off while indicator flashes. But to make things more confusing when the foot brake is reapplied the indicator flashes rapidly, brake light dims and reverse lights come on very dim.

However, this does not happen if I operate the right indicator but only the left.

I'm not too sure what is causing this as it has just started doing it. Any suggestions would be great.

Regards

Bad earth at rear light

Is this a big job or simple to sort out?

Pull back the carpet behind the light and check the wiring plug that plugs into the light, also there's a earth wire that bolts into the boot floor below the light. It's easy to see not hard at all. If it's not that it could be the bulb holder just take it out and the bulb and use a screw driver to scrape the copper contacts if they look corroded
