hiya guys just wondering if anybody has actually got one of these universal kits to fit have a decent filter to go on just wondered how hard the pipework is to fit and if anyone has or is using one at the moment

I've got one, need to take either the battery tray out or the plastic mud guard off. I've got a k&n filter fitted to mine

Sent from my Galaxy S3, not a Crapple!

Owt will do as you're replacing the filter at the end with a decent one, mine came with the car so not sure which one it was

muhahahaha!

That's the one yeah! It's a 2.75" Pipe IIRC so base your search on that :)

Yeap I have the first one! only problem when fitting was sorting the horns out under the wing as mine was in the way. But has been fine for the last 2years. you get a nice noise from it!

my son paid £180 for his I dont think its any better!! lol you could always but a k&n on end

So whats a decent brand of filter to stick on the end? Wouldnt mind a bit more noise/drama.

K&N or Green IMHO, Pipercross are foam and give a slightly different (louder) sound!

I had to mess with the horns too btw, make a different bracket to relocate them :)

Piper cross FTW!

anybody have any pics of the bracket they had to make up or got the dimensions on the off chance

I just got a 3.5" strip of stainless with square holes cut in it from B&Q I think, easily bends so you can get the horns where you want.

any of you have links to the pipercross filter you guys are using

Px are crap.

Get a k and n universal one with rubber hole.

I got the ebay kit that ive sorted so it looks more up market as they look tacky and with age get shabby. Ive used the std filter with tights, px filter and now a k and n and omg there is a big diff in them.

K anf n all the way for me. Cery easy to clean too and their cleaners n oils are not expensive neeither.

Personal preference here i think. To call them crap is a little harsh especially with K&N, the Halfords chavs favorate! What Ever filter you get you need to make sure its dry and not oiled as it will coat the sensor on your maf and cause problems. Simota are also good dry filters.

Pipercross are good for the CAI as there is no metal in them, running a filter thats open to the elements its going to get rusty in the end and your going to suck that into your turbo!

Not calling you crap.

Yes imo they look tacky left in original form. Hence why i painted mine.

They need to be lightly oild or they dont trap the crap. To much and yes it will be sucked thru. Running one not oild is worse again imo.

Px must of changed their cones then mate as the ones i had had a metal latice in them for shape and foam over it?

I felt a difference soon as i changed to the K & N filter. I too swore the px was good but wont use now.

Plus the px foam traps stuff in the outer layer and its hard to get out if at all. The k&n just holds the same items of debris on the outside and you just brush off. Also over time the foam will degrade specially if unprotected via oils and fall apart like the bath sponge and flake?

Aalso unoild you allowing the metal to rust as again its unprotected?

Just my thoughts. Cant comment on green but they are/were very expensive hence me going K&N.
