Warning lights appear/disappear

Featured Replies

Last night my car's glow-plug warning light began flashing and was then accompanied by a steady control system for exhaust (CSFE) warning light. The glow-plug light went out after a further 20 miles but the CSFE light stayed on. This morning, the CSFE light remained on until I nipped into a shop and when I came back out and started the car the dash was free of any warnings.

At all times the car drove normally and not in limp mode.

Is this something that has cleared itself, a false error, or should I book it into the dealer?

It might have no connection but on a recent long run the other day, the bulb failure light came on a few times and each time I stopped, checked all the lights and nothing was wrong.

not sure about the bulb failures

I had a Bora that had a misfire when cold

after a few mins the traction control/abs light would come on then the check engine light and the display would light up with the warning "Emmisions Workshop"

when the car was warm if i stopped and restarted the engine the abs light would go out but check engine and the emmissions warning would stay.

The warnings for some faults will linger for 3 periods of the engine running without the fault occurring before they clear.

It may be worth getting the car checked by the garage or someone with VCDS

What is displayed by the greenline if it does a DPF regen?

You'll have to look in the magic book...I can't remember!

It's a separate warning light for that.

Can't offer an opinion re the warning lights connected to your emission warnings, but in respect of the bulb failure then what you may have is a bulb that has worked loose so that the management system thinks it is blown, but in actual fact is still working fine. This has happened to me in the past but admittedly not in a Skoda.

If I have the windscreen wipers running & then apply the foot brake the bulb failure warning light illuminates on the dash of my 2011 Greenline ( nowt' to do with moisture as it happens when its dry as well)

UPDATE:

The lights came back on Friday night on the way home from work. It was too late to go the the dealer so I went there the next morning and I have to say that the service staff, despite being already fully booked with work, were fantastic in taking my car in and fixing it.

They also told me there was a recall on the car for an update to the stop/start feature and performed that work too.

The service manager and guys in the workshop deserve credit for excellent customer service so well done Henrys Skoda in Glasgow!
