still trying to get to the bottom of the vrs

Featured Replies

I've had the car (vrs 1.8t) for a remap last week, and thought there wasn't any change in performance. i took it back and the guys checked it over and removed the map and re did it, car was the same no increase in performance. they then did a diagnostic check on the car which came up with dump valve not working correctly, both o2 sensors and the egr valve, after i have just replaced the maf and throttle positioning sensor!!!!! what else can go wrong??? to be fair i haven't had it long and its always giving me faults.

can someone give me the benefit's of the n75 bypass?

my car has a de-cat pipe, k&n, a large intercooler and remap, what sort of bhp should it be running?

cheers andy

just seen something........when you have the original air box on there is a breather pipe attached to the air box which seems to go in front of the engine. should this be attached to intake pipe or my diverter valve? could someone post a pic of there engine bay as i'm sure it should be on there... can i get a samco hose or the like for it?

That goes to the cold start air pump thing lol

If your cai doesn't have a provision for it most people put one of those mini breather filters on it

Never heard of anyone bypassing the N75 as it controls the wastegate. N249 bypass is what I think you mean, which isnt a performance mod, but removes a bunch of very unreliable small pipes under the inlet manifold. The Dump valve not working will definitely cause boost issues & you should replace that straight off. The standard OEM DV (£25 from TPS) is fine unless you intend to go stage 2 remap.

I think the pipe you are referring to could be the plastic corrugated pipe for the SAI (Secondary air intake) which should be connected to the side if the air intake.

An O2 sensor on the way out or dead will cause you fueling issues too.
