Bolero brightness control

Featured Replies

Hello all , maybe someone can shed some light please,or is this a fault?

My Yeti is just a year old now, with 20000 km on the clock.

My bolero unit is set to "darkest" in the brightness settings , but from time to time, more often than not,the brightness changes of its own will and will not hold the setting.

Has this got something to do with the "driving mode" so to speak, like stopping, parking, reversing, accelerating ,cruising, etc?Or is there a fault in the Bolero system?

This has been happening since day one and I have gotten used to it,but there is no harm in asking.

Are any of you experiencing the same symptoms?

Thanks.

Hi oriki

I think it is normal and mine (Swing) behaves the same.

Noticed this in a traffic jam on a highway in the night, as driving slowly.

Each time I passed a light pole, display on the Swing got brighter (I think also speedo, rev. and display between them).

While passing the distance between two poles, displays got darker.

I think the light sensor monitors the outside ambient light and "tunes" the display brightness accordingly - around the preset value of the rheostat set by the driver.

Correct, mine does the same.

Yup, I agree.

We have bolero in the yeti and the octavia.

Coincidentally, I was trying to make the display in the octavia brighter last night on a short drive in the dark.

No matter which brightness setting I selected, the screen remained the same.

Today, in daylight I tried again and it changed accordingly.

Has anyone else discovered (maybe in the manual but I hate manuals!) that the loudness of the bluetooth 'bong' when phone connects can be adjusted by the Bolero volume control with the radio switched off. I discovered this by accident when I must have touched the volume control and was deafened by the bong for a few days until I sussed it. May be old hat to many but not to me!

Thank you my friends for your learned answers.I am relieved that it is not a fault.
