Service and car alarm

Featured Replies

I am after some advice please folks. Firstly had the car (59 plate cr diesel vRS) services at Skoda in April. It was its second service at 20000 miles. Today it on just over 26 k and has flashed up this morning service in 600 miles. Is this normal. My daily drive is a mix of detested red A roads and motorways with the last 3 miles to work built up town. Also for some annoying reason the alarm keeps going of at night Not all the time either. Of I unlock the car and let it lock itself again it doesn't go off. The car has xenons would leaving the switch in the on position overnight cause power to drain from battery causing alarm to go off. The dealer has already reduced the sensitivity once which I wasn't too keen on. Many thanks in advance

I wonder if they didn't reset your service indicator at the last service? I wouldn't of have expected a service so early with the driving type that you are doing.

With regards to the alarm sensitivity, my car went back to the dealers about three times before they eventually sorted it. The first couple of times they adjusted the sensitivity, the third time they carried out a 'software update' (but for all I know it could have just been the sensitivity again). Anyway it is fine now.

I see that you are in Lancashire - I have been taking mine to Simpsons of Preston.
