They would but it's not going to be straightforward.

Mk1's are based on Mk4 Golf platform (A3?) and the runners are totally different to the post-2004 floorpan cars from VAG ie Mk5 Golf, Leon, A3, Octy.

Rear seats are slightly different on the hatch as the area around the rear wheel arch is different.

Does that mean the estate seats wont fit the saloon or vica-verca - or 100% not interchangable?
