Can you fit hands free to Stream Radio

Featured Replies

Hello,

ive seen threads where people have added hands free modules to their stereo - can this be done to the stream? or will i have to upgrade all togther.

Thanks in advance

If you want a Skoda Bluetooth phone solution, then you'll need to upgrade to a Bolero/Amundsen/Columbus.

However if you want to retain the Stream, you could fit a Parrot kit. Or a basic Nokia kit such as the trusty CK-7W would do the trick, and allow the stereo to mute for incoming calls etc.

Something like the MK9200 from Parrot would probably be the best 3rd party answer though as the separate screen allows you to make calls easily, phonebook look-up and the like while the phone remains in your pocket.

I have a Parrot 3100 on my stream and it works fine, just need the ISO adaptors and switched live from the fusebox beside the driver

Ill check them out

Thanks

I'm the same as Dallan. My wife has the mki 9200 and I don't like it. In theory it's great, but the controller is always losing connection to the screen and the battery life is appalling.

I fancy trying this next time I need one

I hate a parrot 9100 and hate it, the problem is the control only works when it feels like, wouldn,'t fit another thy.

Not much love for Parrot these days then :)

Other one I tried was the Bury CC9060 kit, which has a separate touchscreen. Dealer fitment to quite a few Golfs and Passats I've seen.

Worked well but in the end I opted for full integration with the Bolero, and fitted an OEM Skoda kit.

Don't get me wrong, mine works but its wired. I think they need to offer the functionality of the mki 9200 but not wireless. Steve you wouldn't believe how many times my wife has to re-pair the controls with the screen and the batteries it eats!

I for one really like my 4 year old unit, works a treat and never goes wrong (why have I said this) but when it comes up for replacement I like the look and how the Motorola works from checking it out on youtube. Would need to play with one to make double sure though

I have a Stream and VAG Bluetooth fitted!

I got the car in Feb 08 and had the VAG module and mic fitted on the way home. It was at Simpsons of Preston who at the time were one of a handful of people importing the kit for retro-fit as SUK weren't offering it as an option at that time.

The only points to bear in mind is that Maxi-dot is a must unless you want to be operating blind, and steering wheel buttons are handy if you want to use the voice dialling.

I'm sure the unit must still be available on the 'Bay.

Yes you're quite right, I remember that revision using Maxidot only and had it in my first Octy2. But it might be tricky to get hold of that version these days.

It's the same version as covered in the installation guide here:

Few options on eBay here but you'd need to check revision numbers and be sure it would work without one of the current generation headunits:
