Now, if they'd had a Yeti!

The shorter wheelbase would have let them get over :giggle:

Wouldn't have made any difference!

In fact the "ramp-over" angle of that Jeep is better than a Yeti's.

To clear that ramp you would have needed a ramp-over angle approaching about 90*'s, and I can't think of any off-road vehicle that extreme. The best I know of is the Merc Unimog.

I saw the story & still was not sure what they built on the other side to get there.

'Short and high with a good break over',

but i doubt i could do it going straight, i would need an angled approach.

(could probably have scraped it, but might still have hung up)

George,

I doubt if your ramp-over/break-over angle is better than 120* and that is good!

Agreed, though, crossing a ridge like that would have been quite easy if done diagonally.

True, untill you pump up the air shocks.

Then the ramp over angle changes,

but then my bottle goes!!

Ah now you're talking.

Air shock to increase ride height for off road use only.......

That's what I call a proper mod for an offroad Yeti.

Need somewhere to mount the winch as well and waterproof the engine and interior and fit a snorkel.

like in my profile photo

I wish Yeti had bigger approach angle: this is what restricts its off-road capabilities most of all IMHO. Thus, no chance of leaving that ramp without smashing the front bumper...

easy......remove front bumper first....

Or you can drag the front bumper like I did on the Elan valley meet! The approach angle is quite poor but the plastic is quite flexible :whew:
