I'm new, have I made a good choice?

Featured Replies

Bit late if I haven't, as I'm picking up my new Fabia VRS estate at the weekend and driving it from Chichester to Manchester - my first truly new car, my last vehicle was (although I still have it) a mk iv golf V6 4motion - I chose the Fabia as the performance figures are very similar on paper but the fuel economy figures are very disimilar! As a test i took the VRS out on a test drive and drove a five mile trip carefully (37 mpg), then again with a lot more vigour (29 mpg). I then repeated with my golf 24 mpg and 16 mpg respectively....... :swear:

I hope I've made a good decision, the other factor is a wife who wants an auto and a toddler and newborn who want five doors (the golf has three).

Hi and welcome aboard.

Yes you have made the right decision.

Hello Stu and welcome along

I love the looks of the Fabia vRS estate, good choice

The vRS estate is a good choice specially with 'rug rats' the access to the boot is flat & easy.

Also there are very few of these around so residual should be better than the hatch.

You dont say what colour you have bought.

Welcome along matey...

I owned my vRS estate for all of 5 mths which probably says enough about my opinion of them but each to his/her own so I am sure that you will enjoy your new car.

Red - VRS (Although I'm not a Liverpool fan). I drove it at a steady 70 mph up the M6 and got 48 mpg - much better than the Golf. Power delivery will take a bit of getting used to, but I'm impressed so far. Thanks.
